Post-Cosmetic Surgery Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
You’ve invested in yourself and gotten cosmetic surgery. It is vitally important to invest in your aftercare to get the best results possible. Vodder method Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (MLD) can give you optimal results very quickly.
MLD, provided by a therapist specifically certified in the VODDER method, is not massage, but a GENTLE skin-stretching therapy, done with dry hands, that speeds up the collection and removal of fluids from swollen areas through tiny lymphatic vesssels up to the throat and then into the blood stream to your kidneys and out during urination.
MLD speeds up healing time, reduces pain & bruising and reduces the chances of your developing seromas and scar tissue/fibrotic tissue.
Schedule your post-op MLD sessions as soon as your doctor has scheduled your procedure, even if it’s several weeks in advance. Don’t wait until the day after your surgery to try to find a certified therapist to fit you in.
Have your first MLD session Day 2-5, two or three times/week for a couple of weeks then taper off to one time/week for a total of 3-8 weeks.
How fast you heal depends a lot on whether you do your at-home work (are compliant). This means taking antibiotics and vitamins, eating small high-protein meals, walking as much as possible, sleeping a lot, wearing your garment (faja), drinking a lot of water, doing your deep breathing to flush the abs, having regular MLD sessions, etc.
Don’t wait weeks or months after surgery when you have lumps and bumps to have your first MLD session! This puts your healing way behind and makes my job a lot harder.
After surgery you will want a mobile therapist to come to your home.
